SUPER 8 HD TELECINE TEST from Speed on Vimeo.

This is a telecine of the Super 8 SMPTE test film scanned framed for camera window aperture, projection aperture and HD 16:9 video.
It is also a good test of resolution and stability of the telecine system developed by US. Well, the real resolution is much better than what you see here because of the file compression.
It has been scanned in www.ochoypico.com at 1920 x 1080 10 bit 4:2:2 and later transformed to 1280 x 720 mp4 H264 for Vimeo.

official super 8mm movie for the song “gebroken wit” by Elly Nieman, introducing Rolina & Benjamin Grasmeijer. Shot in the Netherlands during one of the toughest winters since years. The music is composed by Jan Borger, who also plays the piano.

Elly wrote the song for a mother who lost her child, however, the text only speaks in metaphors. Above all, it’s a song about hope. Therefore the song and this film are dedicated to Lida Koning.

‘Plane. Red. Love.’ explores the interrelationship between visual, auditory, and symbolic language.

On the surface, the film is structured as a declaration of love, but it is the connection and disconnection between voice over narration, visual imagery, and symbolic text that give the film its true meaning.

In addition, ‘Plane. Red. Love.’ is a technical achievement in cinematography. The film uses Super 8mm film coupled with an anamorphic lens adapter to give a rich, saturated, visual experience that resembles cinematic stained glass.
